Had my first session today. It was lovely. She worked primarily on my shoulders and feet, but we got around to a bit of neck, chest. legs, hips and low back, too. My next appointment is in about 4 weeks and I can haz homeworks. I'm great with these sorts of healthy assignments while I feel like crap. I fall off the wagon once I'm better for a while, so my goal is to keep going forward, even when I begin to feel better. I definitely worry about being able to maintain mobility as I age since my bones are already so twisted with disease, and this is something healthy I can do for myself. Best birthday present ever!
Another busy day! I mailed my bebecita a little souvenir/care package, and I had planned on there being a wait. NO WAIT. Unbelievable. I had a half hour to kill before my massage, so found a couple of cute resale/antique shops nearby and perused them. I ended up buying 4 pair of sunglasses. It sounds extreme, but my eyes so hate bright lights that I even need them on cloudy days. I bought 2 sunglasses that are the same--pretty normal darkness. Bought one that is super dark and wrap-around for bright sunshine and one that is very light and also reading magnification! Since that eye infection that probably lasted the better part of a year, my vision has plummeted all-around, but close-up has become horrible. So, these glasses are for reading when I'm outdoors, in bright light, or need to read something when my eyes are extra sensitive from a migraine or eye infection. Definitely bringing a couple pair of these for our fishing/hiking trip. Hubs has 2 half-days booked with a fishing guide/boat and I plan to hike, read and do artsy things while he's learning how to fish for muskie.
I went from massage to the fairgrounds to see hubs in HIS magic show & got some great photos. He was in top form today! One trick didn't go as well as he'd like, because the table surface wasn't ideal, but he covered it well and the best photo of the day actually came from that trick! It's called the light/heavy box and with some magic words, an empty box becomes so heavy you can't lift it. The photo I'm sharing is the spectator "breaking" the handle of the box because it was too hard to lift, while her small daughter was able to easily pick it up and move it around. So cute!
