The Speed of a Snail

I managed my first speed walk training session on the treadmill yesterday. I'm glad I decided to mainly train on the treadmill, as I have more control in case my body has different ideas than my mindset.

25:00-30:00: Cooldown Walk

Yesterday I never went beyond a spirited walk of 3.5mph. I intend to increase the speed (the bolded sections that say "Run") by .1 mph each week, so by my 51st birthday in July, I should technically be walking fast enough to call it speed walking. As you can imagine, I'm terrified of re-injury or new injury because I recover so slowly with autoimmune, and my feet and ankles are a mess with vasculitis right now, so I need to pamper my feet and legs as much as I can through all of this, and I am purposefully going about it at the speed of a snail.

Otherwise, I'm creating. Video chatting with my daughter who is 2000 miles away. We've been doing art chats. Spa chats. Writing chats. I'm working on a blue morpho butterfly cross stitch. It's coming together nicely. I'll share when it's done.

Hope you all are weathering the pandemic okay and are healthy and safe. Be careful out there, and peace, love & butterflies~*~*
