Hungry Moose Haikus

Before Illinois shut down again last month (yeah, I know...a little late for this post, but I have been meaning to get to it!), hubs and I met for a drink & pinball at one of our favorite hangouts, The Hungry Moose. I'm generally good for a game, but hubs is the pinball wizard of the family, so I was compelled to write haiku based on the band signatures on the wall by the stage. Apparently "random strangers" appealed to me the most. Surprisingly I didn't write more about "second wind."

the first second wind

whispers good-night to Gracie

smokers smoke their last

random strangers go

west 'round stones and smokers

five pounds of 'za funk

random strangers dance

all of them sport flat tops

and wear black velvet
