Not Feeling the Electric Feel
The electric woes continue and it is like I feared, though not a total rewiring of the house, but a partial rewiring. We have our upstairs television back, but no tree lights. Before we sell the house, we'll have to get everything up to code, and we do plan to sell in the next couple of years so we can move someplace more pleasant.
Santa was very generous this year. It was nice to be able to have money again to buy presents. Hubs LOVES his Space & Beyond box and can't wait for the quarterly installment to arrive. I wanted to buy it for him last year, but couldn't put the funds together, so at least Christmas was easy this year! In addition to the money we sent the kids, we also sent some potential places for them to buy scratch & dent/discounted/gently used appliances--they want a stackable washer & dryer set.
I got myself a couple of stocking stuffers too--a hair iron set (which I didn't add to the stocking set-up)--it does waves, crimps or straightens. Got some body spray because I'm almost out, and an essential oil. I put the last two items in my stocking, then forgot, and when hubs's stocking became too stuffed, I put the stocking stuffers that were more household items (extension cord, reusable zip lock bags, windshield de-icer, etc.) in mine but forgot I put my stuff in there too, yet brainfarted when I told hubs to unpack mine too...he laughed when he got to the vanilla body spray & claimed he didn't want to smell like a cupcake! lol
The furbabies got some fun stuff, too. A kitty tent so Cressie can hide from the boys, one of those things that allows you to throw the ball farther for the pups, and they all got treats.
Santa spoiled me, too! Got a spa gift certificate, the purple & gold siren/mermaid mascot travel mug & coffee from Starbucks, a hipster Santa oven mitt with wine cookie cutter & sugar cookie dry mix, gingerbread candle, eggnog (the good kind; the adult kind!), popcorn tins, and Argentinian cookies filled with dulce de leche. Round two of sugar cookies will commence next week. I have an idea of what I want to do with them, though I know not to get my hopes up tooooo high after my poor gingerbread boy turned out so goofy!
Chatted with the kids yesterday and we had a slight change of plans. My brother-in-law came over for Christmas dinner and he doesn't like spicy food, so we made Italian Christmas Soup & I served it with grilled cheese and double corn bread. Also served cheese, crackers & grapes before dinner. Tonight I'll make the chicken/turkey thighs and spicy cranberry salsa.
I'll post again later regarding goals. The only one I did well this past week was the personal one--I took my meds on a regular basis. Only day I missed was the pukey migraine day. Hope that kicked my good habit into gear again. I think I will use this last week of the year to catch up on the prior two weeks' goals, but I'll set a new personal one. I'll give it a bit more thought before I post again.
Happy holiday weekend to everyone!! Be safe.
